COMMENT: Mr. Armstrong, I have worked in the Arctic Circle. They always show polar bears on ice but what they fail to tell the public is that they normally spend time on land in summer when sea ice declines and most pregnant polar bears give birth and make their dens near the coast not on ice in the open sea.  They are excellent swimmers and will swim long distances. The photo they used to start global warming makes them appear to be clinging to ice because they cannot swim and that is where they live exclusively. This is just another part of the propaganda.

It is rare to find someone these days willing to say the truth.

REPLY: Someone sent in this Facebook link that lists the timeline of climate scares. It is amazing how these people hate society so much that they have lied about everything to try to send us back to the pre-Industrial Revolution. They are totally dishonest about what their objectives truly are and they conspire together to destroy our civilization.

They have succeeded in convincing Europe to take drastic action on “climate change,” but perhaps because the politicians already KNOW that their social system is collapsing and they will be unable to sustain it even with the highest taxation on the planet.

Macron of France is pushing hard to Federalize Europe because he knows full well that France cannot maintain the level of social benefits and still keep its spending in line with the European treaty. His agenda is to federalize Europe and use climate change as a cover for the failing socialism he faces. By pushing France to surrender its total sovereignty to Brussels, the cuts to French benefits will then not be his, but Brussels. That ploy will simply not work. Nonetheless, he has been trying to use climate change to reduce social benefits 

When I lived in Switzerland for a few months a few years ago working on a project, the same Starbucks drink in Zug was $10 compared to $5 in the USA. The degree of hidden taxes through the VAT system combined with income taxes that are 20-30% higher than in the USA means there is just no room to raise taxes in a normal fashion. Hence, politicians need global warming as an excuse to raise taxes. That is what began the Yellow Vest Movement in France — the added fuel tax to save the planet. We saw the same excuse when Canada placed a $1,000 tax per home to save the planet when the money just goes into the general coffer and does not even fund a pretend strategy to save the planet.

Climate change has become the battle cry for governments to simply raise taxes and the lies will only fuel civil unrest.

It has been obvious that the Intelligence community has tried to both prevent Trump from being elected and to overthrow his presidency. This Impeachment has turned into an outright coup. Here we have Joe Biden publicly admitting he withheld money UNLESS Ukraine fired the prosecutor who was investigating the company that hired his son to gain influence in Washington. If this impeachment against Trump is valid at all on the basis he “attempted” to withhold money from Ukraine unless they investigated what Biden did and here we have Biden admitting that he did withhold money, then we have to call into question what is really going on.

It appears that the Democrats have joined hands with the Intelligence community to actually overthrow Trump. CNN has joined this conspiracy and is claiming now to be tracking the lies of Trump without documentation to support their headlines. Why has the country come to this? Clearly, this is an all out coup and at the expense of dividing the country so profoundly, it is not hard to see how and why the United States will now separate and we may not even last until 2032. Even if they succeed in overthrowing Trump, the Republicans will do the same to any Democrat. Government has ceased to function – this is now just a grudge match.

The Democrats know that the socialist system is collapsing. They can smell it in the air. Even if the Democrats, CNN, and the Intelligence Community succeed in overthrowing Trump, sources say the objective is to (1) raise income taxes to 75% with the tax on Billionaires to be back to 90%, and (2) they want to go to war in the Middle East against Russia. Those in the intelligence community hate Russians and want to use their toys at last to wage war.

The more I talk to sources, the more I begin to see that the computer will be correct again, which I have tried personally to fight against. It is the reason I wrote this book on Manipulating the World Economy in hopes of perhaps changing the system.

The British elections came out in line with the computer projections with the Labour (socialists) coming in at the lowest level back to the 1930s. Ideally, Trump should win and the Democrats will eventually split themselves. However, he may not be in office after 2022. The computer is showing some sort of shift at that time, which raises concern about a staged assassination or a faked  death by heart attack. We certainly do not seem to be headed back to government as it used to be.

This toxic political state of the United States is going to get far worse. The Democrats are simply fueling hatred and dividing the country for what seems to be just revenge for their own failures in economic policy. There is no winner here. Even if the Democrats gained control of the Senate and the White House imposing Marxism full boat, they would be unleashing death and destruction with civil war.

There have been hundreds of millions of people who have been killed fighting against Marxism. All the wars combined starting with World War I have resulted in a tiny fraction of deaths compared to the war against Marxism (i.e., China, Russia, South America). Not even religion stacks up against the war against Marxism for causing the number of deaths. I am thankful I am not 25. But I lament for my posterity whose future will never be what I experienced.

Warfare & Killer Robots That Can Change Everything

It has been reported that China is selling its killer robots to the Middle East. These things will simply kill every human on the battlefield. This is clearly changing the face of warfare and the serious concern is that these things will one day be deployed in civil unrest situations. If we have machines that enforce laws or replace soldiers in battle, this is actually the greatest wish-list governments have had for centuries. The power of any government rests upon its military to back it. Make no mistake about it, the United States has also staged exercises using the military to launch an assault on American cities. Even the EU has been conducting military/police exercises in case of civil war breaks out inside Europe.

I have written many times that the playbook on using the military to against civilians to protect the government goes back to the Nika Riots of 532 AD. There were two rival political factions in the empire, the Blues and the Greens, who started a riot in January 532 during a chariot race in the hippodrome. The riots stemmed from many grievances, and the people set fire to many public buildings. They even proclaimed a new emperor, Hypatius. Unable to control the mob, Emperor Justinian and his officials prepared to flee. His wife, Theodora, spoke out against fleeing the capital. She took charge and ordered the loyal troops led by two reliable foreign officers, Belisarius and Mundus, to attack the demonstrators in the hippodrome. Troops inside Constantinople refused to attack their own people. The key was to use troops who were not local for they would defend the government. The lesson is you cannot use local troops who may not kill people they know.

These new killer robots are the ultimate solution. This is how the government put down the Nika Riots and it remains the classic means to maintain power when confronted by civil unrest

The ECB & its Green Agenda

QUESTION: Marty, what do you think about Legarde claiming the top priority of the ECB is climate protection?

ANSWER: The proposition that the primary objective of the ECB should be climate protection is highly questionable even from a legal perspective. The European Treaties created the ECB with the primary function to ensure price stability. Interestingly, the statutory authority also states that the ECB must support the general economic policy of the European Union without prejudice to the objective of price stability. There is nothing legally in the authorization of the ECB to proclaim it will listen now to Al Gore and Jennifer Morgan of Greenpeace who are both manipulating this 16-year-old “person of the year.”

I do not see anything in the authorization of the ECB where it has the legal right or even the obligation to defend the climate. This seems to be a personal agenda, for Greenpeace succeeded in getting into Davos and influenced Europeans who have gone off the deep end. For the ECB to put climate protection as one of the central themes of EU policy is clearly without any legal authority no less precedent. Climate change is not the role of a central bank.

Supporting “green bonds” has been the worst possible investment. We have institutions asking if we could create a portfolio of green investments that do not lose money just so they can claim they are “investing” in green. Any venture into “green” investment is counter to the ECB directive to provide price stability. The ECB must not compromise the objective of price stability, but it is an impossible task to support a green agenda. It seems that the ECB is now interpreting that if the European Commission imposes strict climate policies which will raise the cost of everything and wipe out the German car industry by virtually outlawing the combustion engine. The ECB has considerable political freedom, and power, to enforce a green agenda upon the EU.

This certainly seems to be an agenda that will only further undermine the European economy going into 2032 and increase the drive for separatism.

REPLY: The central bank has been in control of short-term rates, not long-term. The Quantitative Easing of 2008-2009 was all about reducing the supply of long-term debt in hopes of lowering long-term rates, which they hoped would revitalize the real estate market. Here, the Fed is dealing with its own perceived power. The mere fact that the Fed had to step into the repo market and continues to provide liquidity is an effort to prevent short-term rates from rising. It also reflects the reality that the Fed has lost control of interest rates. They will ultimately be unsuccessful in maintaining control over short-term rates on a sustained basis. We are entering a whole new dimension. This is not Quantitative Easing as so many immediately called it. They just lack the understanding of how the economy truly works both globally and domestically.

The Federal Reserve made no change to its target interest rate at its December meeting, expressly saying that the economy remains strong. They said that in fact the economy is so strong that few central bank officials currently saw any need to cut interest rates over the next 12 months. This is because the capital flows are still pointing into the USA while the rest of the global economy is showing major signs of stress. The Fed cannot lower rates when the pressures are for rates to rise due to risk factors nobody will talk about publicly.

This is simply where international analysis overpowers domestic. We advise internationally. You have a whole different set of criteria to watch. Domestic analysis is just reading the local headlines and trying to guess what the Fed will do next

The countless analysts who keep preaching that the dollar will collapse have been singing the same song since 1971. They NEVER look outside the USA and simply preach how the US debt (over $20 trillion) will result in hyperinflation and the end of the US economy. They ignore the fact that the US is a tiny fraction of global sovereign debt. They also ignore the fact that there is already $17 trillion in negative yielding euro bonds out there.

I have been warning that the USA will be the last to fall. The stress on the world monetary system will be seen outside the USA. We have seen defaults on foreign denominated debt by now in Lebanon. This is just the beginning. We are looking at a contagion spreading in 2020 on a global scale.

Why the Fed Stopped Lowering Short-term Rates

The Repo Crisis is only Part II of this Mother of All Financial Crises. Where Quantitative Easing was buying in long-term debt to try to lower long-term interest rates and stimulate the economy, the Repo Crisis is entirely different for its objective is to prevent short-term rates from rising. The Fed did not lower rates today and hinted that rates would remain unchanged into 2020 BECAUSE the pressure is rising for short-term rates to rise. This is confirming that all central banks have LOST control of short-term rates.

Greta & Mother Living Lavishly?

The latest rumor running around Europe is based on this photo of Greta Thunberg and her mother living above normal European standards of living, sitting in posh or elegant and stylishly luxurious chairs. Greta’s speeches appear to be written by Jennifer Morgan of Greenpeace. They had Greta further their Marxist agenda saying:

“Our biosphere is being sacrificed so that rich people in countries like mine can live in luxury. It is the sufferings of the many which pay for the luxuries of the few.”

Greta was an adviser to We Don’t Have Time and it was alleged to have been a covert partnership with Al Gore’s Climate Reality Project, 350.org. Ingmar Rentzhog’s We Don’t Have Time was alleged to have used Greta’s image to gain funds for his firm, according to Climate Change Dispatch. Greta’s family denied being aware that she would be used to raise money for Mr. Rentzhog’s organisation and is said to have cut her ties with that organization.

Greta’s travel to Alberta inflamed serious  passions from both sides of the climate change agenda. She appeared to have been accompanied by her parents. She claims her mother gave up her career because she had to fly often, which harmed the climate, but they had no problem hopping on a plane to Canada.

What is clear is that Al Gore and Jennifer Morgan of Greenpeace do collaborate together and it has been Morgan who accompanies Greta even to Davos. Some argue that Al Gore is taking care of Greta and her family through Greepeace. That remains speculation right now unless you can get a court to order Greta & her family’s financial records to see how they are earning a living when her mother quit her career to save the planet because she had to travel for work.

Swedish journalist Henrik Alexandersson also claimed that Miss Thunberg’s much-reported speech delivered at the United Nations Climate Change Conference in Poland in December 2018 was delivered to an empty room. Nobody has any photos to confirm or deny that allegation. It has been argued that Greta’s school strike coincided with the launch of a book about climate change written by her mother, who is the well known opera singer Malena Ernman, according to Swiss magazine Die Weltwoche.

Hunt for Taxes & Illegally Searching Your Phone & Laptop at the Border

The US border guards have been illegally searching laptops and phones for anything that might lead to hidden money. A Federal Court in Boston has ruled warrantless searches of the phones and laptops of international travelers violates the Fourth Amendment. It is amazing that you would even have to take them to court to force them to honor the Fourth Amendment. The ruling came in a lawsuit filed by the American Civil Liberties Union and the Electronic Frontier Foundation on behalf of 11 travelers whose smartphones and laptops were searched without individualized suspicion of any wrong-doing. The ACLU described the searches as “fishing expeditions” where border guards must now demonstrate individualized suspicion of contraband before they can search a traveler’s electronic device

I have been a subscriber for several years and I appreciate your work. You mentioned that when the dust settles there will be pockets in the US that are safe. Can you elaborate where they will be? Also if your child was planing on majoring in finance in college next year, would you steer them away or have them specialize in something like forensics since there will be a mess to sort out? Or would you steer them to a different major or no college at all?

ANSWER: It is still too early to forecast which areas will be best specifically. In general, the major regions will be split politically between left and right. There will be stark differences politically between California v Texas and Florida for example. You certainly do not want to be in any state that is out of control with respect to taxes and police abuse. Most people would never guess, but the state that abuses the law the most is Iowa. The percentage of drivers who have been given speeding tickets is 23.2%. That is a stunning percentage of the population. Indeed, Iowa wrote 148,755 tickets in 2016, which was a lot given the population compared to 712,000 tickets written by New York.  Additional states where the percentage of people who have been given speeding tickets over 20% are Wisconsin (20.2%), Ohio (20.5%), Nebraska (20.8%), Wyoming (21.3%), South Carolina (22.7%), and North Dakota (23.1%).

We have states that have been funding themselves with traffic fines for all sorts of things. A friend’s wife was ticketed for looking at Google maps on her phone while at a red light. She went to court to prove she was not texting. The judge ruled for the state, as they are instructed to do, and fined her by saying she is not even allowed to look at he phone. So if she had a paper map, that would have been OK. So this is what we call legal persecution for monetary gain.

Pole Shifts & Climate Change

QUESTION: Good morning, Mr. Armstrong. Last week, you wrote about the north and south poles flipping. Has Socrates ever suggested that the earth could flip so that the north and south poles move to where the equator is now; that is, has the earth ever moved sideways? I live in Edmonton, Alberta and, at one time, north-central Alberta lay in the tropics and was characterized by swampy river deltas; the rivers had their sources to the west and flowed into a large lake. Fossils clearly show plant, fern, and tree species that are now found in Florida and Louisiana. Even more exotic like ginkgo trees were present. Dinosaurs and other assorted reptiles thrived. Could it be that Edmonton and area swung to the north, thus killing off the dinosaurs?

ANSWER: We were provided the data on all the pole shifts going back millions of years. Each time the plates move (expand), a strip of new lava appears on the seafloor. It is magnetized to where the north pole is at that time. So we have all that data and it is also in Socrates. The poles shift on the Sun is every 11 years. But here on Earth, it appears to be about 720,000-year cycles for a major flip. We are clearly in the time slot for a pole shift. But because there is not a human record explaining what it was like during such an event, it is very hard to speculate if it is a sudden defrost. Some have been frozen while eating lunch, which may have taken place in Siberia with the frozen mammoths.

It is part of our database on nature which was fed into Socrates. This is how it has been able to correctly forecast major changes in weather from the historical databases we have gathered. It does appear that 2032 is also the culmination of climate change which is part of the cycle that is historical and has nothing to do with humans. We are nothing but a fly on an elephant’s rear end that can be swatted off in a second in the long-term scheme of things.

New Jersey was also underwater. Much of the State has the Pinelands which is sand. Where I grew up, we had clay pits where kids used to hunt for dinosaurs fossils since they discovered some in that area. Over millions of years, the rising and falling of the coastline deposited minerals underground, culminating with the end of the last ice age about 12,000 years ago when plants and trees began growing in what is now New Jersey.

I find it really funny how the Global Warming people warn that coastal cities will sink because the ice will melt. Again, these people offer absolutely no historical evidence to support their claims and they completely fail to address the fact that it was the end of the ice age when coastal land began to appear in areas they claim will sink.

Climate has ALWAYS changed. They are only about reducing population growth. It is absurd to claim 11,000 scientists have agreed to teach girls they should not have children. If any climatologist really signed that statement, that is OPINION and not based on any scientific analysis. If their name is on that paper agreeing to that statement and they never agreed to that, they should file a class-action lawsuit to stop this propaganda.

We have much more serious climate change issues that these people are ensuring we are not going to be prepared for because it is always the cold which reduces population historically. The recent pole movements have been drastic of late, which may be a warning of what is just around the corner. To make it clear, the poles have “wandered” in shorter time intervals measured in 1,000-year cycles compared to 720,000-year cycles for major flips. There have been detailed records of the pole movement since 1580 from London. The north pole has always moved. What is unusual right now is its acceleration in the movement has been faster than records have indicated.

While any magnetic-field flip could be in our immediate future based upon our timing models, keep in mind that we are dealing with a cycle duration of 720,000 years. Being within a decade would be extremely accurate with this type of duration. So there is no way to pinpoint even a year of the decade for that matter. The effects would be profound in technology. This is because the weaker magnetic field would be somewhat poorer at shielding Earth against the solar wind (the constant stream of charged particles emanating from the sun) and cosmic rays (blasts of radiation from deep space). Therefore, GPS would not be accurate, and satellites that monitor the weather or carry telecommunications signals could be disrupted or even fried. Then we would have increased radiation might kill off some portion of the population, animals, and plant life which would result from the decreased shielding in some pockets, but probably the atmosphere would still provide sufficient shielding at Earth’s surface since we have no evidence of that effect previously.

Polarity flip or reversal is one of the few geophysical phenomena that is indeed global. A pole shift begins in the deepest parts of the Earth, however, it also affects the atmosphere. Based on the data we have gathered, over the last 2.6 million years, the magnetic poles have flipped 10 times and there have been more than 20 times during which the poles have wandered. When a volcano erupts, the lava cools and is magnetized to where the north pole was located at that moment in time. Iron oxide’s outermost electrons orient themselves along the Earth’s magnetic field and once the lava cools down to 1022 degrees (550 degrees Celsius), this is when the magnetization direction becomes fixed. We were supplied data from sources that wanted to see what cycles Socrates would extract. That was 720,000-year intervals. We are in the target zone now into about 2045
