The Cyberattacks Are to Force the End of Paper Money

I find it interesting how nobody seems to distinguish between a digital currency and blockchain cryptocurrency. The former is not traceable other than that transaction. To eliminate cybercriminals, the World Economic Forum is pushing ending paper money and moving to cryptocurrencies – not digital. With blockchain, the government would be able to trace the money to the criminal. The side benefit will be to ensure everyone pays taxes on everything they ever dreamed of. This is the REAL purpose of cyberattacks that are private decisions and outside the jurisdiction of government to trace and prosecute.

This is why Klaus Schwab is warning of cyberattacks. This is to end commerce globally without government-trackable cryptocurrencies. In 1934 when Roosevelt confiscated gold if you had money on deposit in a bank, which had been in gold coin, Roosevelt seized it all. The difference between a digital currency you use today with a debt or credit card is that is not traceable beyond a single transaction. Bitcoin using blockchain allows the government to trace every person who had that Bitcoin in the flow of money. Crypto is far more than digital and they never want to talk about that either. They will tell you no more credit card theft. Everything will be 100% secure. You will no longer be able to find a $5 bill in the parking lot.

I have written before how the Romans tried to outlaw prostitution declaring you could not pay a prostitute with a coin that had the image of the emperor which they all did.  So they created these tokens you would buy from a money changer, you would pay the prostitute and she accepted them because she knew she could go to the money changer and he would convert them to coin.

Human nature is resilient. There are already counterfeit COVID cards. In Japan, every new emperor would devalue the outstanding money supply to 10% of his new coins, which also had no metal value. Soon, the Japanese refused to accept Japanese coins. They used Chinese coins and bags of rice. The Japanese government LOST the confidence of its people and was UNABLE to issue coins for 600 years.

They are desperate to get China and Russia into their Great Reset because just as the US dollar is the world currency with 70% of paper dollars circulating outside the United States, that could be replaced by the Chinese currency as was the case back in Japan. Will history repeat? Will we be using Chinese currency because Schwab succeeds in 2023 to end paper money in the West? My advice to China – start printing and imitate the stability of the dollar and never cancel your currency.

Even when Rome fell in 476AD, the barbarians still imitated the Eastern Roman coinage issuing the coins in the name of the Eastern Emperor. This only illustrates my point, that often the currency commonly used is that of another country.

China Open Gold Trade in Yuan as Proxy for the Yuan

China keeps moving gradually to open up their economy to international forces. The People’s Republic of China has expanded the trade in gold in yuan and thus the internationalization of the national currency is moving closer. Gold merchants from the industrial metropolis of Shenzhen have been trading their yuan gold at the Hong Kong Stock Exchange since last week. Previously, this was only possible for Hong Kong gold traders. While some immediate claim this is China attacking the dollar, they are completely ignorant of international capital necessities.
This new connection between Shenzhen and Hong Kong follows the Hong Kong-Shanghai agreement reached in July 2015, which allowed Hong Kong dealers to trade gold in mainland China for the first time. Trading gold in yuan has one primary advantage. It is not going to unseat the dollar, it is all about trying to make the currency free-floating on the world market. Because gold can be traded in yuan, the common converter becomes gold between that and the dollar. It is NOT really a gold trade as much as it is an indirect means to trade the currency.
To unseat the dollar requires a place to PARK big money in yuan. That does not exist right now. That day is coming after 2031. This is another step in moving toward a free-floating yuan contract. Essentially, this is a formal proxy for a free-floating yuan and will replace the Bitcoin trading that has been used as the proxy to get money out of China

It’s the capital flows that are the key – not trade.

Will China take over US as the top Superpower

QUESTION: I read a credible theory recently about China taking over US as the top superpower via economic pressures. Namely by replacing the US dollar with the Yuan as the standard currency for international trade. This shift is (supposedly) being enacted through 1) increased control over Developing countries through international lending from the New Development Bank, 2) increasing control over global oil via financial ties to Saudi Aramco and Russia’s Rosneft, 3) trying to denominate global oil transactions in Yuan through the Shanghai oil futures market & backing up the Yuan value with the massive gold reserves China has been accumulating.
My question is whether you see this strategy unfolding as a credible threat to usurping United States’ global domination by China and if so – what might the investment world look like during such a massive upheaval?

Thanks – love your blogs & insights!!
WM
ANSWER: China is on the rise and it will become the financial capital of the world after 2032. However, it has a long way to go. China can price every commodity in yuan and demand all trade deals are in yuan. That still will not displace the dollar. The center core issue behind the dollar ironically in the US National Debt. For now, this is the place institutions can park their money. You can trade in any currency, but where do you park you profits?
China will displace the USA as the financial capital of the world when (1) people begin to trust China as a place to park money. Bitcoin exploded because the Chinese were using it to get money out of China, which had reach 98% of trading. China has been steeping in against BitCoin to stop the capital outflow.
It’s the capital flows that are the key – not trade. The daily trading volume in FOREX alone has exceeded $5 trillion. Most investors are familiar with the stock market, yet they are unaware how small in volume share trading is compared to foreign exchange. The Forex market dwarfs the trading in equities and futures markets.
FOREX trade and investment capital flows DWARF trade flows. Absolutely nothing compares to the Foreign Exchange Markets.
Anyone can write a contract in dollars. You cannot do that in Japanese yen. If you issue a bond in yen you have to apply for permission back in Tokyo. All these argument are made up by the dollar-haters who are so desperate to find an excuse that the dollar will crash. It’s time will come. Just not yet.

Yuan : road to Reserve Currency

Gold – Oil – Dollar

QUESTION: Mr. Armstrong; At the cocktail party in Hong Kong I am the one who asked you how China should proceed to make the yuan a reserve currency. You said the rule of law must first protect property and surprisingly you said to issue commodity contracts redeemable in gold. Well, everyone knows whatever you seem to advise China does and very fast. The news is they will now do exactly that. Start a oil contract redeemable in gold. Can you explain why you took this position? You were surrounded at that moment and did not explain in detail why oil should be redeemable in gold.
DK
ANSWER: It was not based upon the rise or fall of gold. The objective is to establish the yuan as a reserve currency until we reach the Monetary Crisis Cycle conclusion. The logical step is to try to boost the yuan as a redeemable reserve currency with stability. You either PEG it to the dollar (unwise for political reasons) or you “LINK” it to gold – but do not PEG it to gold. If you attempt to PEG the yuan to gold, that would fail for you are making the same mistake as Bretton Woods. The only possible way is to “LINK”  it to gold but on a floating exchange rate. That way you are encouraging confidence in the yuan allowing it to be redeemed on a floating basis with gold. Hence, the political risk of the currency is reduced for it could become possible that the currency system breaks apart and politically currencies could be politically frozen and non-redeemable.
This is a long-term structural reform. Do not expect it to be a real game-changer just yet. There will be hype, of course, but we are looking at structural reforms that will take some time. Naturally the hype will claim this is the end of the “petro dollar” for they will use any excuse to call the dollar down. They do not understand that ONLY a rising dollar will break the world monetary system. A lower dollar will buy everyone a lot more time because most foreign borrowing is in dollars. They also are living in the past. The USA is not a net exporter – not an importer.

China’s Renminbi Reserve Status

Chinese-Capitalism-R
While the International Monetary Fund (IMF) is expected to give the renminbi (yuan) a political victory by including the Chinese currency in the list of reserve currencies, few in the West even understand what this means. Including the renminbi in the SDR economically means nothing for it will not dethrone the dollar any more than the other currencies in the SDR, The only way to dethrone the dollar is to provide a deep currency where big money can park.’
However, the black market in China known as the shadow banking system has indeed been shut down. This has been done to cut off capital out flow. Making the renminbi part of the SDR by September 2016, means the outflow of capital can resume. China’s effort to support its markets has followed the same general path as Japan whereby the government discourages short selling. Restricting free investment may have the opposite impact and China must float its currency to survive.
